Spain?s Friki Films to Handle Troma Product in Spain, Portugal

MADRID ? Troma Entertainment has signed a deal with Spain?s Friki Films that sees the Spanish distributor, which caters to specialty fare, set up a Troma label to handle Troma product in Spain and Portugal.

The new so-called Troma Line, which coincides with this year?s remake of Troma?s cult classic The Toxic Avenger?and Lloyd Kaufman?s sequel to the saga titled Toxic Twins: the Toxic Avenger V?will release five Troma films on DVD, never before released in Spain.

Included in the Troma lineup are: Buddy Giovinazzo?s Combat Shock?(1986), Rufus Butler Seder?s Screamplay?(1985,) Lloyd Kaufman?and Michael Herz?s The First Turn-On!?(1983), Pericles Lewnes? Redneck Zombies?(1989) and Joel M. Reed's Bloodsucking Freaks?(1976).

Additionally, the Troma Line will distribute the Marc Gras? 2010 documentary Troma is Spanish for Troma?and republish the Troma comics, previously handled in Spain by Fester Entertainment. Friki also plans to introduce new graphic novels with the producers? characters.
