Of Gods and Men at Keel's Creek
This week's free movie at Keels Creek Winery, Sunday, Feb. 19, at 3 p.m. will be the award-winning film, Of Gods and Men (Des hommes et des dieux).
Eight French Christian monks live in harmony with their Muslim brothers in a monastery perched in the mountains of North Africa in the 1990s. When foreign workers are massacred by an Islamic fundamentalist group, fear sweeps through the region. The monks refuse army protection. Should they leave?
This film is loosely based on the life of the Cistercian monks of Tibhirine in Algeria, from 1993 until their kidnapping in 1996. More info: (479) 253-1769.
