NEW YORK (AP) ? Chita Rivera will get some help from Stephanie J. Block, Jim Norton and Will Chase when "The Mystery of Edwin Drood" begins flummoxing audiences this fall.

The Roundabout Theatre Company revealed Thursday the full cast for the revival of Rupert Holmes' musical comedy that begins Oct. 19 at its Studio 54 theater under the direction of Scott Ellis.

The Tony-winning play is loosely based on the book of the same name that Charles Dickens was working on when he died in 1870. The audience decides who the murderer is.

Norton won a Tony in "The Seafarer" and Chase is known for his role as Michael Swift in NBC's "Smash. Block has just ended her run in "Anything Goes." Jessie Mueller, from "On a Clear Day You Can See Forever," and Gregg Edelman, of "Into the Woods," also join the cast.

Have you seen Maroon 5's newest video for "One More Night" yet? MTV News was lucky to have frontman Adam Levine and lead guitarist James Valentine stop by to premiere the clip on MTV during "MTV First: Maroon 5" on Monday, during which we learned that, from the band's point of view, love is battlefield. Or a boxing match, rather.

The concept for "One More Night" was dreamed up by Levine and directed by "Friday Night Lights" and "Battleship" director Peter Berg. It revolves around a boxer dealing with the pressures of providing for and being there for his young wife and baby. The young wife in this case is played by the lovely Minka Kelly, who worked with Berg on "Friday Night Lights." Although Levine and Kelly look every bit a happy couple at the beginning of the video, their romance is not of the fairy-tale variety.

"Minka was kind enough to make an appearance. That was pretty sweet," Levine said of the actress' involvement. "She plays my wife who leaves me." Spoiler alert, Adam! Luckily for everyone involved, the story behind getting Kelly to sign onto the project was a much happier tale than that of the two characters Levine and Kelly play in the video. It was as easy as picking up the phone and making a call.

"She's great," Levine said of Kelly. "The [story behind her involvement] was Pete reaching out to her and saying, 'Hey, do you want to do this?' and her saying 'Yes,' and us saying, 'Thank you!' " Levine explained, before giving her a full-on shout-out. "Thank you, Minka Kelly, for doing our video!"

In addition to her work in the cult hit "Friday Night Lights," Kelly has continued to appear on TV and in film with roles on "Parenthood" and the rebooted "Charlie's Angels," as well as on the big screen in "The Roommate" and a bit part in "(500) Days of Summer." Next up for Kelly is the rumored role of a young Jackie Kennedy in the upcoming ensemble "The Butler" alongside Forest Whitaker, Oprah Winfrey, Matthew McConaughey, John Cusack, Alan Rickman, Jane Fonda, Cuba Gooding Jr. and Lenny Kravitz.

London 2012 Olympics: Hotel prices fall as visitor rush fails to materialise

Last month the four-star Radisson New Providence Wharf Hotel, three miles from the Olympic Park, was showing the cheapest rate of ?594, for a double or twin room, for the Games period.

But similar rooms are now available during the Olympics for between ?210 and ?306.

Industry experts hope say the price cuts will attract an increased number of visitors.

It is thought these are more likely to come from the rest of the UK and northern European countries. than the US and Asia, as the short-notice makes it harder for them to plan a holiday in London in time.

Seamus Maccormaic, a senior director with Hotels.com, one of the country?s leading hotel booking sites, said: ?We predict that we will now see an increase in the number of domestic visitors to London during the Games period, especially those who have managed to get tickets.

?They will be taking advantage of the fall in room rates to book one or two night stays, allowing them to attend the Games and also spend some time in London.

"Others will just want to be in the capital, perhaps go to the Olympic Park with day tickets and soak up the fantastic atmosphere there will be over the Games period.?

As part of the bid to stage the 2012 Games, Locog had reached agreements with hotels to provide it with more than 40,000 rooms, representing more than 600,000 room nights during the period.

Part of the deal was that the organising committee promised to return any unwanted rooms back to the hotels so they could sell them in time for games.

The rooms, at more than 200 hotels, range from five-star to budget accommodation.

At the same time hoteliers have begun to offer discount rates in an attempt to encourage people put off by what is the high cost of accommodation in London compared to previous years.

Mr Maccormaic added: ?A lot of hotels, small, medium and large, have held back until now in the hope of attracting visitors at premium rates. But they are now starting to put rooms onto the market at much lower rates because they found they just could not fill them. That means there are some fantastic bargains to be had at the moment.?

Studies have shown that an estimated 294,000 tourists were likely to visit London from overseas during the Games period, with a further 587,000 day overnight visitors from the rest of the UK.

On top of that it was estimated that around 5.5 million day trippers would descend on London during the two weeks of the Olympics and 12 days of the Paralympic Games.

The Oxford Economics think-tank had forecast that ?650 million in tourist spending was likely to be generated during the five year period after the Games.

They preferentially express stem cell genes and can undergo asymmetric cell division to generate PSA(+) cells. Importantly, PSA(-/Io) PCa cells can initiate robust tumor development and resist androgen ablation in castrated hosts, and they harbor highly tumorigenic castrationresistant PCa cells that can be prospectively enriched using ALDH(+)CD44(+)alpha 2 beta 1(+) phenotype. In contrast, PSA(+) PCa cells possess more limited tumor-propagating capacity, undergo symmetric division, and are sensitive to castration."

According to the news editors, the researchers concluded: "Altogether, our study suggests that PSA(-/Io) cells may represent a critical source of castration-resistant PCa cells."

How Do Plants Know Which Way Is Up And Which Way Is Down?

It's dark down there in the potting soil. There's no light, no sunshine. So how does it know which way is up and which way is down? It does know. Seeds routinely send shoots up toward the sky, and roots the other way. Darkness doesn't confuse them. Somehow, they get it right...

More intriguing, if you turn a seedling (or a whole bunch of seedlings) upside down, as Thomas Andrew Knight of the British Royal Society did around 200 years ago, the tips and roots of the plant will sense, "Hey, I'm upside down," and will wiggle their way to the right direction, doing a double U-turn, like this:

How do they know? According to botanist Daniel Chamovitz, Thomas Knight 200 years ago assumed that plants must sense gravity. They feel the pull of the Earth. Knight proved it with a crazy experiment involving a spinning plate.

He attached a bunch of plant seedlings onto a disc (think of a 78 rpm record made of wood). The plate was then turned by a water wheel powered by a local stream, "at a nauseating speed of 150 revolutions per minute for several days."

If you've ever been at amusement park in a spinning tea cup, you know that because of centrifugal force you get pushed away from the center of the spinning object toward the outside.

Knight wondered, would the plants respond to the centrifugal pull of gravity and point their roots to the outside of the spinning plate? When he looked...

...that's what they'd done. Every plant on the disc had responded to the pull of gravity, and pointed its roots to the outside. The roots pointed out, the shoots pointed in. So Thomas Knight proved that plants can and do sense gravitational pull.

But he couldn't explain how.

We humans have teeny crystalline stones floating in our ear cavities that literally sink in response to gravity, telling us what's up and what's down. What do plants have?

Strangely, this is a real puzzle. We still don't know for sure how plants do it. There is a team of botanists, John Kiss and his colleagues at Miami University in Ohio, who have a promising idea, but at the moment it's just a very educated guess.

Plants have special cells right down at the tip ? the very bottom ? of their roots. And if you look closely, inside these cells there are dense, little ball like structures called "statoliths" which comes from the Greek, meaning "stationary stone." You can see them here.

I think of them as pebbles inside a jar. If the jar is upright, the pebbles, naturally, fall to the bottom.

If I put the jar on its side, the pebbles will roll to the side of the jar, the new bottom, and lie there.

If I turn the jar upside down, the pebbles will drop into the cap, which used to be the top but is now the bottom.

Basically these little pebbly things respond to gravity. In a plant cell, gravity pulls them to the "bottom," and once they find a resting place, they can send signals to neighboring cells in the plant essentially saying, "OK guys! We now know where Down is. Those of you that need to go down (root cells), go this way! Those of you who need to go up (the shoot on top), go the other way!"

This, suggests Professor Kiss, is how plants figure out where "down" is. They use little statolith balls as gravity receptors.

His idea got a boost when he sent some seedlings into space (to the space station) where the pull of gravity is close to zero, figuring if the statoliths just float randomly and don't drop to the bottom of their cells, the plants won't know which way is down. And sure enough, he reported that plants growing in space did not send their roots in any specific direction. The roots just went every which way.

So the next time you pass a tree, a flower, a grape vine, grasses, bushes, vegetables any plant that seems to be reaching for the sky, that plant may be going up not just because it wants to be kissed by the sun, but also because down at its bottom, in cells rooted in the Earth, it's got itty bitty rocks telling it, "go thattaway!"
